Vision X launch date

With an intention to dominate the SUV segment, Mahindra is once again ready to take a big step. The company is now working on a plan to launch new models in both ICE (engine-driven vehicles) and EV (electric vehicles) segments. If needed, it can also introduce hybrid vehicles in the future.

On August 15, Mahindra will unveil its new NU platform, along with which 4 new SUV concepts will also be introduced – Vision.T, Vision.S, Vision.SXT and Vision.X. A recent teaser shared has given a glimpse of the rear profile of Vision X. So let’s know what can be special in this new Vision.X concept.

Vision X Concept – What is revealed so far?

Mahindra has given a glimpse of the rear of Vision.X in its new teaser. This design looks somewhat similar to the BE6 and XEV9E, but it also has a different and unique style. Even though the teaser is in grey-scale, from what is visible, it is clear that the rear has a full-width LED strip, which can be connected to vertically stacked LEDs on both sides. This strip can also extend towards the bottom, which will give it a different look.

Also, a special place has been given for the registration plate on the bumper and vertical reflectors are also visible on the sides. Sporty elements and faux skid plates are also visible on the bumper, which give it a rugged look. However, it is not clear whether Vision.X will have a coupe-like roofline like the BE 6 and XEV 9e.

What hints did the earlier teasers give?

The last few teasers gave a glimpse of Vision X from different corners, in which its side view and top view were clearly visible. The front design has a layered fascia and a straight up nose. The SUV has polygonal wheel arches and aero-friendly alloy wheels. There is no gap visible between the tire and the fender, which suggests that this model can be completely road-focused.

In comparison, the Vision.T and Vision.SXT have a significant gap between the tyre and the fender, which indicates their off-roading character – somewhat like the Mahindra Thar and Scorpio N. The top view of the Vision.X also shows a sculpted bonnet and sharp grooves on the edges.

Vision.X – Which SUV could it be?

Speculations are rife about Vision.X. Some believe that it could be a new member of the XUV family, while some are considering it a completely new model. Looking at the market trend and user demand, it is also being speculated that Vision.X could actually be the electric version of XUV700 – XEV 7e. At the same time, a derivative of XEV 9e could also become the base of Vision.X.

NU Platform – Mahindra’s next big move

The most special thing about these four Vision SUVs is that they will be based on Mahindra’s new NU platform. This platform works on multi-energy architecture, which means it can have all powertrain options – petrol, diesel, electric and hybrid. Many other auto companies are also using similar platforms, which reduces costs and technology can be introduced to the market quickly.

Mahindra’s new Vision lineup will be unveiled on 15 August and it is going to create a new stir in the SUV world. Now it remains to be seen how much impact Vision X and other models make.
