The year 2025 is proving to be very special for the automobile industry, and Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has also made the most of this opportunity and entered the world of electric vehicles. Honda, one of the most favorite scooter brands in the country, has launched two new electric scooters at the 2025 Auto Expo (Delhi-NCR) – one budget friendly Honda QC1 and the other premium segment Honda Activa E.

Electric version of Honda Activa E– launched now

Putting an end to long-running rumors and expectations, Honda has finally launched the Activa e in India. Its starting ex-showroom price has been kept at ₹ 1.17 lakh. This scooter will compete directly with popular EV scooters like TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Suzuki e-Access, Hero Vida and Ather Rizta.

If you want a more premium experience, Honda has also introduced another variant called Activa e RoadSync Duo, which is priced at ₹ 1.52 lakh (ex-showroom).

Amazing features of Activa e

This new electric scooter from Honda is second to none in terms of features. In this, you get a stylish TFT instrument cluster that comes with Bluetooth connectivity – meaning now you will get turn-by-turn navigation, call-message alerts and much more. At the front, LED headlight, DRLs and LED taillights give this scooter an even more premium look.

The Honda Activa E comes with two separate battery packs that can be easily removed and replaced, and each battery has a capacity of 1.5 kWh, giving a total battery capacity of 3 kWh. The company claims that this scooter can run up to 102 km on a single full charge.

The battery swapping system is one of its biggest features. It has a swingarm-mounted electric motor that produces a peak power of 6kW (8 bhp). The top speed is 80 km/h and it gets three riding modes – Eco, Standard and Sport.

Honda QC1 – Want an electric scooter on a budget?

If you don’t want the hassle of battery swapping and want something simple but reliable, the Honda QC1 could be a great option for you. Priced at ₹ 90,000 (ex-sh), this scooter is specially designed keeping the budget segment in mind.

The styling and features of the QC1 are kept a bit simple. The instrument cluster is also basic, but it gets a 26-litre boot space, which offers a lot of utility, especially for urban users.

It has a 1.5 kWh fixed battery that gives a range of 80 km on a single charge. The motor is hub-mounted and has a peak power of 1.8 kW (2.4 bhp). The top speed is 50 km/h and there are two riding modes – Eco and Standard.

This entry of Honda can prove to be a big game changer in the EV segment, especially considering the reputation of the Activa brand. The company has targeted both the premium and budget segments simultaneously, which is considered a smart strategy. In the coming time, Honda can introduce more electric models, and this will increase the competition in the Indian EV market.

Now it remains to be seen how much competition this new move of Honda gives to old players like Ola, Ather and TVS. But one thing is certain – the game is going to get even more interesting now.
