Hyundai Motor India is going to launch its much-awaited Creta Electric at the India Expo to be held in Delhi on January 17, 2025. Ahead of this special occasion, the company has released a great TV commercial with Bollywood’s King Khan, i.e. Shahrukh Khan, which gives a glimpse of the powerful features of this electric SUV.

The TVC clearly shows that Hyundai is betting big not just on design but also on EV technology and practicality. The company has specially highlighted its global EV technology, powerful performance and long range in it.

Hyundai Creta EV Details, Range and Price

The new Hyundai Creta EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 7.9 seconds. It has a range of up to 473 km on a full charge, while the all-weather design makes it easy to drive in all road conditions. It has smart features like steering mounted gear selector, drive modes, voice-activated panoramic sunroof, and front-mounted charging port. Also, its active air flaps improve aerodynamics, which increases both performance and efficiency.

In terms of design, it looks similar to its ICE version but gets EV-specific updates like a closed-off grille, aerodynamic alloy wheels, connected LED tail lamps and horizontal LED DRLs.

The interior is premium in nature, inspired by the Hyundai Ioniq 5. It gets high-tech features like dual 10.25-inch digital displays, Bose sound system, ventilated and powered front seats, and Level 2 ADAS. ADAS includes safety technologies like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. 6 airbags, 360-degree camera, digital key, and powered tailgate are also present.

Battery options include a 51.4 kWh pack that offers a range of up to 473 km, and a smaller 42 kWh pack that will last up to 390 km. The device features fast charging, which makes it charge in no time. You can charge it from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes. Also, it has a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) feature, which lets you operate electronic devices outdoors.

In India, this Hyundai Creta EV SUV will compete with the Tata Curvv.ev, MG ZS EV, upcoming Mahindra XEV 9e and Maruti eVitara. It will be locally manufactured at Hyundai’s Chennai plant. Prices are expected to start from around Rs 14 lakh. The company is also offering a battery warranty of 8 years/1,60,000 km.

Hyundai said that the Creta Electric will come with R17 aero alloy wheels and low rolling resistance tyres, which will improve both mileage and aerodynamic performance. For charging, more than 10,000 EV charging points have been mapped on the myHyundai app, and there is also an option of a smart home charger.

Tarun Garg, COO, Hyundai Motor India, said, “Hyundai Creta Electric is a major milestone for us. Carrying forward the legacy of the Creta brand, we aim to instill confidence in Indian customers towards EVs with design, technology and safety. We are confident that it will set a new benchmark for electric SUVs in India.”
