Royal Enfield has officially launched its new adventure-crossover bike Royal Enfield Scram 440 in India. This bike replaces the company’s previous Scram 411 and comes with a new design, powerful engine and many great features. With this bike offered in two variants Trail and Force, Royal Enfield is now making a new beginning in the adventure-crossover segment.

The look is the same Royal Enfield Scram 440

Although the look of the Scram 440 looks quite similar to the Scram 411, many important changes have been made in the new model. Its size and weight have been increased slightly, which makes the bike feel more robust and grippy. The Trail variant has the option of Blue and Green color, while an exclusive Teal color has also been added to the Force variant.

Price

The new Royal Enfield Scram 440 motorcycle is now available in the market, and its Trail variant is priced at just ₹ 2,08,000 ex-showroom. If you want to opt for its Force variant, then you will have to spend ₹ 2,15,000 for it. There is a difference of ₹ 2,000 to ₹ 3,000 in price compared to the Scram 411, but it seems quite reasonable considering the new features.

New Features

Scram 440 is special for those riders who like to ride their bike everywhere from the crowded city to the mountains. It has features like LED headlight, digital-analog meter, and optional Tripper Navigation. It has a large fuel tank of 15 liters for covering long distances.

The Trail variant gets tube tyres and spoke wheels, while the Force variant gets tubeless alloy wheels (19/17 inches). With switchable ABS, comfortable ergonomics and 795mm seat height, this bike is ready for all types of roads.

New 443cc engine

The Scram 440 is powered by a new 443cc single-cylinder air-oil cooled engine that produces 25.4hp of power and 34Nm of torque. Compared to earlier, it now has a 6-speed gearbox, which makes the ride even smoother and stable, especially on the highway.

Braking and Suspension

The bike gets a 300mm disc brake at the front and a 240mm disc brake at the rear, both of which come with switchable ABS. The suspension setup is taken from the Scram 411, with telescopic forks of 190mm travel at the front and a monoshock of 180mm travel at the rear.

Royal Enfield CEO B. Govindarajan said on this occasion, “We have created the Scram 440 with the idea that this bike should not just be a commuter, but should also be a means of fun and exploration. This is a new approach to our Scrambler series, which is a perfect combination of style, power and performance.”

Who will it compete with?

The Royal Enfield Scram 440 is now in direct competition with many other bikes. These include bikes like the Yezdi Scrambler, Triumph Scrambler 400X, and the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401. With this, Royal Enfield’s next focus is on launching new models in the 450cc, 650cc and 750cc segments.

Royal Enfield has once again proved through the Scram 440 that it has the potential to be a game changer in the mid-segment motorcycle market. This bike can be a perfect choice for riders who are looking for adventure along with everyday riding.
