Tesla Roadster

Tesla Roadster is once again in the news, even though its launch has been delayed by more than five years. The company is calling it the “last driver’s car”, meaning that in the future when everything will be self-driving, this car will be considered the last real car to be driven by humans.

But now the question arises, is Tesla delaying the Roadster so that its self-driving technology can catch up with it? Or is the self-driving technology itself being delayed so that the delay of the Roadster can be justified?

Tesla Roadster Range and Information:

This high-performance car was first shown in 2017 and production was supposed to start in 2020. But every year its launch is postponed by another year. No final date has been given yet.

The Tesla Roadster was claimed to have a range of 620 miles (about 1,000 km) and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.9 seconds. But this car has now become a joke and people have started doubting whether it will ever come on the roads?

Actually, Tesla had started a referral program years ago in which customers who sold more vehicles were promised a free Roadster. People sold millions of rupees for Tesla but they have not received a single Roadster till now.

Not only this, many people paid an advance amount of $50,000 to $250,000 just so that they could reserve this supercar. But the car has not even been launched yet.

When it was first introduced, Elon Musk called it a “halo car” and claimed that it would completely outperform petrol cars. But that is now about eight years old and in the meantime many electric hypercars have come and created a stir in the market.

Tesla also gave an excuse for the delay of the Roadster that they are making it better, and are going to add a SpaceX package to it which will have “cold air thrusters” that can help the car “fly”. Musk himself gave this hint.

But every year when Tesla says “the Roadster will be launched this year”, and then nothing happens, it becomes really hard to believe.

Now recently, Tesla’s Head of Vehicle Engineering, Lars Moravy has given a new statement. He was speaking at a special fan event ‘X Takeover’ organized for Elon Musk. He praised the Roadster car and said that it is the best car ever, which gives real pleasure of driving. He also told that some of its “cool demos” were also shown to Musk last week.

Now it remains to be seen if this is just another hoax, or is Tesla actually taking some concrete steps towards turning the Tesla Roadster into reality?
